Assist. Prof. Dr. Carlos Alberto Patiño Romarís is a PhD in Geography and Assistant Professor at the University of Vigo, specializing in regional geography, territorial planning, and sustainable tourism. His career combines strong academic experience with significant professional work in strategic consultancy, currently serving as Director of Marketing and Territorial Planning at IGETI. He has participated in nationally funded R&D projects focused on sustainable tourism and territorial adaptation, as well as in initiatives related to local development and urban planning. He is the author of books, book chapters, and scientific articles on coastal tourism, heritage, and regional development. His current research focuses on sustainable destination management, the application of GIS in tourism, and territorial resilience, contributing to socioeconomic development and strategic territorial planning.
