Assist. Prof. Dr. Marcelo Boriollo | Immunology and Microbiology | Research Excellence Award
UFSCar – Federal University of São Carlos | Brazil
Assist. Prof. Dr. Marcelo Boriollo research focuses on applied microbiology and immunology, integrating molecular genetics and cell biology to investigate microbial pathogenicity, host–microbe interactions, and antimicrobial resistance. Studies employ advanced methodologies including molecular typing, multilocus enzyme electrophoresis, genotyping, and virulence profiling of bacterial and fungal pathogens, with emphasis on clinically relevant microorganisms, biofilm formation, and epidemiological surveillance. The scholarly impact of this research is reflected in strong citation performance, with 1,089 total citations (486 since 2021), an h-index of 19 (13 since 2021), and an i10-index of 34 (15 since 2021), demonstrating sustained influence, methodological relevance, and continued contribution to microbiological and immunological science.
