Prof. Ahmed earned his Ph.D. in Development Economics from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2004, with a thesis titled “Impact of Air and Water Pollutant Emissions on Malaysia’s Manufacturing Sector Productivity Growth.” He completed his MSc, also from Universiti Putra Malaysia, in 1998, focusing on “Productivity and Performance of Malaysian Food Manufacturing Industry.” His academic journey began with a BSc in Agricultural Economics from Al-Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt, in 1992. He completed his High School Certificate in Sudan, completing 12 years of pre-university education. This extensive academic foundation laid the groundwork for his special focus on economic development, sustainability, and productivity, enabling him to teach and guide postgraduate and undergraduate students for more than two decades.

Work Experience

With over 20 years of teaching and research experience, Prof. Ahmed began his academic career at Multimedia University in 2004. Rising through the ranks from Lecturer to Professor, he has taught Economics and Business subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His courses span topics such as International Economics, Macroeconomics, and the Knowledge Economy. As a doctoral supervisor, he has guided many Ph.D., DBA, and MBA candidates. His responsibilities also include internal examination, curriculum development, and administration. Prior to academia, he worked as a Research Assistant at Universiti Putra Malaysia and earlier as a Storekeeper at Kenana Sugar Company, Sudan. He has held significant leadership roles such as Coordinator of Postgraduate Programs and Chairperson of the Center for Globalization and Sustainability Research.
