Seyed Morteza Marandi completed his academic journey with a Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering from Leeds University, UK, in March 1996. Prior to that, he obtained his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Geotechnical Engineering and Civil Engineering, respectively, from Texas University in the USA in 1980 and 1978. He began his education in mathematics, receiving his diploma from Saadi High School in Isfahan, Iran, in 1972. His foundational education also includes attending Sheshom Bahman High School in Isfahan and Amin Primary School.

He is currently a Full Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman since 2016, having previously served as Associate Professor (2010-2015) and Assistant Professor (1997-2010). He also had significant involvement as a Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman and Texas University, USA, between 1982 and 1980.
