He earned his PhD in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Second University of Naples in January 2015, under the guidance of Prof. Luigi Zeni. His doctoral thesis centered on the development of sensors based on plasmon resonance in polymer optical fibers and photonic crystals. This research involved the design, fabrication, and implementation of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensors for both biological and chemical detection, utilizing advanced techniques such as sputtering, spin-coating, and e-beam lithography. Prior to his PhD, Dr. Bibbò obtained a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from Federico II University of Naples in July 2009. His master’s thesis focused on the fabrication and characterization of organic semiconductor-based organic field-effect transistors (OFET) for biomedical applications, showcasing his early interest in the intersection of electronics and biology. Dr. Bibbò also holds a three-year degree in Biomedical Engineering from Federico II University of Naples, completed in June 2006. His undergraduate thesis explored innovative technologies for cardiac diagnosis, specifically the application of multislice computed tomography to coronary arteries.
