Education

Professor Ghassemi’s academic journey began with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Iran, in 1988. He then pursued an MSc in Ocean Engineering at Gdansk University of Technology, Poland, completing it in 1993. Following his passion for maritime engineering, he earned a PhD in Ocean Engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 1997. His post-doctoral research was conducted at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, from 1998 to 2000, before joining Amirkabir University of Technology as an assistant professor in 2000.
