He then pursued an MSc in Ocean Engineering at Gdansk University of Technology, Poland, completing it in 1993. Following his passion for maritime engineering, he earned a PhD in Ocean Engineering from Yokohama National University, Japan, in 1997. His post-doctoral research was conducted at Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, from 1998 to 2000, before joining Amirkabir University of Technology as an assistant professor in 2000.
